I'd like to give this venue another try. It was a very hip atmosphere with the huge disco ball and lighting effects as well as an school decor. The bar was almost speakeasy like with its retro dim lighting. I wasn't a fan of the dj the night I went by my friends though he was lit!
Good food and a cool ambiance, but the music is so loud it's hard to have a conversation with the person right across the table.
We came here to see Mad Zach, which I'm sure is not the typical DJ that plays here, but this guy is amazing, so props for this club booking him! The club itself is very cool. There are endless things to look at, from Hello Kitty and Ryan Gosling themed bathrooms stalls in the girl's bathroom, to the huge variously decorated hanging paper lanterns on the ceiling in the bar. The staff is all very friendly and professional, and this place overall had a good vibe. The crowd is super basic and annoying, but a typical club-goer would probably love it. I had a good time here :)
What an amazing experience. Can't wait to take another trip to San Diego just to eat here again.
Great venue, great staff (especially bouncers), and great sound quality. The only complaint is the cost of drinks. $15 for a whiskey meat is a bit painful!
