Have eaten there twice. Wonderful each time. Noon is busy with families with children. Later is a better time for adults.
Organic margaritas, coconut shrimp, and breakfast scramble are my favorites. My husband had the seafood stew and said it was one of the best he's tasted. We'll go back again, many times
Typical overpriced menu. We got up and left after waiting 10 minutes for somebody to take our drink order. Don't waste your time. Eat somewhere San Diego has so much better options than here.
They don't accept strollers. My 8 month old was sleeping and the restaurant had plenty of room. Their best offer was to wake her up and use a highchair. We left hungry. Big disappointment.
A very nice style sit down restaurant and bar.
This is the only sit-down, "real" restaurant, at the zoo. I would say that it is on par with other restaurants in and around Balboa Park, meaning that it is pricey, but has good atmosphere, excellent quality food, and great service. Because it is the only place to get food that isn't fast/junk within the zoo, it can fill up quick. Plan ahead and grab a reservation with OpenTable. Outside patio seating next to the manufactured waterfall provides a nice touch.
Their hours of operation are sure to disappoint you. The posted hours here mean nothing. Better call them. They close early and often and you will be literally shut out. Speaking from experience.
