The theater was smaller sized but very nice and cozy. In-seat dining is also available while you watch a movie.
Very nice place for any occasion but actually dinner time with live music is perfect. Food is absolutely delicious, service is amazing, also after eating you can go watch a movie sitting on the super comfortable seats and you can order more food or just sup your favourite drink and relax. Highly recommend it!
I liked watching movie on the big screen while reclining on the plush chairs, but I didn't have as good experience as I'd have in another good movie theatre. The continuous movement of the wait staff to take order and serve was really annoying. I'd much prefer watching the movie in an Imax theater with less distraction and bigger screen and much better display quality for the same price.
Insider tip: Since most of the restaurant has seating on patios or open air type areas, be sure to bring a coat and dress warmly. Happy Hour would be a great first visit. Then take in a unique Indie or International film at their own theater next to the restaurant. This is a prime location for a group event. There is parking located next to the front entrance and on Fay Avenue.
The place is beautiful and the service was great. My only criticism is the food made my roommate and I very ill. So I'll definitely be going back, but absolutely staying clear of the food next time.
The location lends itself to being very social with many of the groups there that night mingling with each other. Both the dining area and theater had a small town feel to them that reminded me of a friends get-together evening rather than a diner and movie out.
I thought this place was supposed to be upscale but the manager was rude when I asked him a simple question. This was right after it opened. Maybe if I asked him in spanish he would have understood easier. Possibly a cultural issue. Let’s be real this attitude doesn’t fly in La Jolla.
San Diego Fashion Week picked The Lot in La Jolla as their kick off night party location, which I attended. Although I'd heard a many things about it, this was my first time here and I loved everything about it. The group I was with ordered a huge selection of the appetizers to share which were all excellent. We ended up competing for the last pieces and plowed through all the platters of house guacamole and chips, Edamame, Truffle fries, pita chips and hummus, Buffalo Cauliflower, homemade chips and veggie sticks and dip.
