Honestly disappointing. A huge part of the tours advertise snorkelling with leopard sharks. We did not see any. We saw a couple sea lions in the rocks and some fish in murky water.
The kayaking to the caves and back was fun but I wouldn't consider that a kayak tour. No tour in the caves and according to the guide it was because a lot of other kayaks were in there already... so ours were the kayaks that couldn't go in to make it better for the other tours?
The front counter ladies in the apparel side were very nice and helpful with the locker purchase and directing us to the rental gear. They are 2/3 of these stars. The other star is for the two friendly guides...although they weren't very energetic and involved with the group, they were still kind when approached.
A truly AMAZING experience! My husband and I did the kayak and sea cave tour during our time in San Diego and it is a must do! La jolla is absolutely beautiful and the kayaking and sea cave tour is so unique. The pricing is very reasonable and the instructors are extremely helpful and patient. Would highly recommend this!
We had an amazing time kayaking... the two guides were fun and knowledgeable... this is good for all ages. The guides stopped periodically to give us information about the area and history (actually they were letting us rest and making sure everyone caught up) it was great fun! I rented a wet suit top (kept me from getting sun burned) it's amazing how easily one can get burned because of the cool weather and overcast conditions... I highly recommend this company to kayak with! Call ahead for best pricing...
The staff at the store were friendly enough. My issue is more with the customer service - or LACK of customer service - when we got down to the beach to actually kayak. First of all, this was my first time kayaking, and I was there with my 9yo son. They had a whole bunch of kayaks on the sand, and basically, my young son and I had to drag the kayak ourselves to the water, about 30 feet or so. I'm only 5'1" and 110 pounds, and while it wasn't the most strenuous thing I've ever done, it really would've been considerate of and LOGICAL for the employee to take it to the water for us!!! Especially since there were 2 of them there!!! I saw other rental companies on the beach, and the guys there all helped! I was clearly struggling, and so a kind passerby actually helped me and told me what to do. Now wouldn't it have made sense for the actual company employee to have done that??? Then, when we were done, AGAIN, we had to drag the kayak back!!! Again, the idiot guy just stood there watching and directing us rather than help!! What the heck?!? I was really ticked off, and so because of that poor experience on the beach, I'm giving this experience only 3 stars. The company should do a better job training their employees on the beach to actually help out us newbies!!!
Superb! I took a 90 minute kayak tour to the caves and to see the sea lions. My guides, Tiffany and Bryce, were so much fun. I did not find the kayaking to be very strenuous add let's just say I'm less than in shape. There are free lockers available and all the extras are available for rent. I think it's a great value and an awesome experience.
