I walked in there today for a checkup and they tried to charge me an extra $200 in out-of-pocket expenses. When I questioned it, they tried to offer an alternative service plan that would only cost $25. (Well which is it?)

Don't do it. Please don't do it - unless you wanna know what it feels like to "get smiled" (I'll explain later).

When I returned to work that day, I told my co-workers what dental office I went to and their response was "Oh, you got "Smiled." (Apparently this is an actual term.) According to them, the San Diego dental practices with 'Smiles" in their names are notorious for ripping off their patients. Learning this, I reflected on a time where PB Smiles told me I had two cavities, while Bay Park Smiles told me they were not cavities (and then proceeded to sell me $1400 other services.)

I 100% relate to John Burgess' Google review about being charged for "extra" things insurance "does not cover."

Kind and honest people who have my best interests at heart. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Friendly staff, professional and clean environment.

I went in for a cleaning and x-rays that should have been 100% covered but they overcharged by $144 for *extra* services not covered including $72 for "oral hygiene instructions" that I didn't even receive. Beware!

I was offered additional services for maintenance and accepted at a $25.00 charge. I didn't feel pressure or scammed into purchasing. The staff was very upfront and honest about the costs, leaving it up to me to decide yes or no.

My insurance covered all costs, including the price of a filling.

When I left that office after that first time something just didn't feel right. I felt like I had just walked off a used car sales lot. Shady af.

Moral of the story: Don't get smiled.

This was all supposedly "maintenance" fees for my last visit - which cost me $1400 out-of-pocket (over $3K total with insurance.)

I don't even know who to trust anymore. I totally got smiled. Hard.

Been coming here for nearly a year... brand new technology and an extremely friendly staff. Happy to call them my dental home
