Yes, I visited a library while I was in CA. It was near our hotel, so why not? We had time to kill. The library is on the National Register of Historic Places. If you're a fan of architecture, then check it out. Checking out a book doesn't hurt either. My friend and I just walked around a bit. I thought the rotunda with the globe chandelier and murals was the best part of the library. There's a garden too, but we didn't really walk around it due to homeless people hanging out. If you're interested, they give tours of the library.
The staff is helpful and friendly. The library has lots of cozy areas to read and study. The fireplace is a very nice touch!
The library is well appointed, well stocked, and large. The staff is friendly and well informed. It combines a traditional table and chairs reading approach with innovative and varied reading areas, including several outdoor covered courtyards. There are two living room areas with fireplaces. Children's and young student areas are separate and there are plenty of computers. The shelf stock of DVDs and Audible Books is amazing and current. There are large collections in many languages. Our urban founding father, Ben Franklin would be amazed and pleased. City Heights 92105 is the best.
Glad to have a large library presence in the neighborhood. Relatively well stocked compared to the North Park and Southeast branches, good amount of computers for users around here who don't have reliable computers/internet at home.
Two story library and great place to read and do my homework
