Despite being a nice facility with a helpful staff, I just cant understand 2 issues I have with this branch - It's air cond. all winter long - today is raining and only in the mid 50s outside. - come in out of the rain to air cond?! What a waste of energy (especially when it should at least be HEAT!!) Even staff has to wear extra clothing - I have 3 layers of clothes, and it's quite cold! Is there a morgue below the library?!
Clean, library card holders can use computers, self checkout on books.
Rudest librarians. They treat you like some real pond scum while they sit on high horses.
Nice, modern, clean, help-yourself library. New releases available right up front, easy to reserve audio books on the computers, easy to search and access e-books. Getting a replacement card was a breeze with the one helpful staff member.
This is one of the best libraries in San Diego clean, peaceful, nice staff, great area geared towards kids, two computer rooms, video viewing room and more.
Other issue: no one bothers to enforce most of the libraries own rules anymore - people bring dogs, often talk full volume on phones or to each ignoring those that are reading/studying, and some patrons have such poor hygiene that I have to keep my distance or be subject to an odor similar to a soiled diaper left in a trash can. Worst of all - Despite having a community room for events in a separate part of the building - they have live music INSIDE the branch and children running, yelling, even screaming - and no one says a word. Can't even drown this out with headphones. I am harping on this hoping they will get the message, because asking staff and sending emails has not helped-nobody cares.
