Super nice! The pool is excellent and the rooms are lovely. The walk to the beach is very short. I love it!
I had a lovely stay! Attended an event in SD and a group of us stayed at the Navy Lodge. The rooms were great and the kitchens in our suites were large enough that we were able to have meals in one room. The staff was helpful and we appreciated the 24 hour store in the lobby. Wonderful spot on the beach!
If this was any other hotel it would be 1 star but where else can you stay in Southern California in a hotel on a beach for around $100 per night? Hotel is overall clean, breakfast in the morning and a mini mart open 24-7. The bad: A/C does not blow cold air at all. After running all night the room temp stayed around 77 degrees. Can't sleep with the balcony door open because right below there is a automatic sliding door that squicks when opens and closes. Water in the sink is slow to drain. Elevator door sometimes gets stuck and it will not operate. Pool is not heated, so water is as warm as the ocean. No restaurant, nor bar. Besides all of the bad, we would definitely stay there again just for the views, beach and ocean breeze.
By far the best Navy Lodge in San Diego. Continental breakfast every AM, the biggest beach in the area nearly all to yourself. Suites, cottages and nice regular rooms on Coronado North Island Naval Air Station.
My wife is active duty and we were able to book 4 rooms under their group rate special. Private beach, continental breakfast, and large rooms sealed the deal for my family. We had a blast during our stay, especially on the rooftop terrace. Quick tip: pay the extra $10 for the kitchenette. Even if you don't plan on cooking your own meals (all cooking essentials supplied), it makes the two Queen room MUCH larger. We slept four comfortably.
