Beautiful Views of San Diego. Also beautiful park. A MUST SEE. Great to picnic here with the family.
The museum is only open extremely limited hours, and the history presented has been severely whitewashed to erase the crimes committed against the natives and to glorify slavery and rape they experience as some sick process of "improving their lives". The surrounding park land is wonderful and is great for hiking, but the mission itself is a monument to colonial white supremacy.
Smallish but enjoyed the history and being able to walk all the way up into the tower.
The museum, the park, everything is awesome!
My wife and I visited this beautiful historic building last weekend. It sits atop Presidio Park and was built in 1925.It was donated to the city of San Diego in 1929 by the wealthy owner. The museum is named after a Spanish Roman Catholic priest who did mission work in the area in the 1700's.He must have done a lot of good deeds because he was later made a Saint by the Pope.Junipero Serra is known as the Apostle of California. What a wonderful history this building has.
