This is an interesting place. I recommend doing the guided tour first to learn the history and then do the self tour so you have more room to move around and take pictures.
Didn't experience anything or catch anything on camera. Worth a visit to learn about the tragic history of the home. The house didn't "feel" haunted, but the sun was still up when we went through. Our guide was a British guy who had a good bit of knowledge on the family and home. Pretty fun, but the price is a bit steep for what you get ($13/person for a 30 minute tour).
Awesome house with some crazy stories. I personally didn't experience anything but it was a very cool museum all on its own. $8 before 5 o'clock, $13 after. Quick 15 min tour.
I went on a ghost tour and it was the funniest thing! If you are into history then this is the place for you! It was fun and got a lot of cool pictures! Definitely a thing to do with a group of friends/family or for a date! You see some crazy stuff and you can definitely feel the energy!
The Whaley House is an interesting piece of history and is great to visit for that reason alone. It was not only the home of the Whaley family in San Diego's early days, but also housed their courthouse, a general store and a vaudeville theater at different times. But for ghost enthusiasts it is even better, as it is claimed to be the most haunted house in America. The house was built on the site of the Old Town gallows and terrible things happened to the family in the years they lived in the house. You can read all about the history of the house on their website. I personally didn't witness any ghostly activity while I was there but many people swear they do.
