Absolutely breathtaking. So, much pride is displayed in the artwork. I walked around for an hour admiring it while capturing every photo I could.
I was there on Chicano Park Day 2017 and enjoyed myself immensely. The display of Low-Rider autos is second to none. The painted artistry displayed on buildings must be experienced.
This is a small park meant for hanging out or for admiring the art. It’s historic status makes it a popular spot to look at the murals covering the bridge. It’s a gathering place for many cultural events and most recently a skate park was added.
Love, love, love this place! I love seeing it whether I'm driving through or strolling by it. A bold statement of resistance and against gentrification. I couldn't be more appreciative of its defiant walls, its colorful message, its historical assertion and its cultural pride! A must see and explore. And there's a skate park within it for those seeking a space to skate. A safe space for counter-narratives and Chican@ art!
