I went here with my aunt and uncle. It was a lovely place. We had a nice stroll around the garden. It was serene and relaxing park. It's a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the city.
A very serene walk through a beautiful garden. I also bought a delicious hot tea from the shop at the entrance to the garden which was the icing on the cake.
Beautiful, serene and an enjoyable stroll. Affordable if you are a member or buy the Balboa Explorer pass. Some of the special exhibits are pricey for what you see (extra fee on top of admission or pass), but enjoyable and educational. Love watching the koi.
Having been here in January, it was certainly a serene place to be. I went in the morning and there wasn't many people at all. Then again, it was January. It was drizzling, for the most part. However, I still enjoyed the walk. Definitely recommend going at least once. Take a someone with though...so you don't look all lonely and s**t, walking around taking pictures. #lol.
One of the most beautiful places that I have been to in San Diego'a Balboa Park is the "The Japanese Friendship Garden. It's a quiet and serene place. You can find bonzai trees, a koi pond, and waterfalls and stream. My favorite part is the lower level. The walk is nice and you have plenty of photo opportunities here. They do have a Japanese festival here in which they have performances such as Taiko drums and Japanese food. There is a price for admission
