Took my tot for the first time this past heat wave, and she ejoyed every second. Water shoes for the little ones a plus to help protect those toes from the stones under the water. Area was perfect for a little picnic and play after a little splash.
I came here for a tactical festival. It is amazing, you have a front side view of the San Diego bay looking out to the Coronado Island. Although i am not a local anymore. My wife and I used to take walks around here. I recommend Little Italy as well, which is around a 5 min. drive. Little Italy is a great place to take a date or grab a cup of coffee and absorb the scenery.
Love bringing my Boys here to play in the water. The slides tend to get too hot to ride most mid afternoons. The park is always clean, restrooms are always clean . Has family bathrooms for people with children. Always has security keeping an eye out and keeping kids off the water jets which helps them play safe without incident.
It's on the waterfront. ..so parking is not too bad. What a wonderful place to visit, have a nice afternoon with a special person or even the kids. The kids lay area is huge, soft and very large. Shade is a challenge but overall, it is a very nice place.
A truly wonderful park for all! Great gardens, beautiful and playful fountains, intriguing playground equipment, wide lawns and more. Plenty of benches for people watching time and gorgeous views of the harbor. The security team does an excellent job and I always feel safe here. It is special to spend some time a the Peace Officers Memorial and be grateful for all of the officers who serve our community.
