This school was okay, at best. Some of the teachers were great, some made me stressed out beyond belief. Most of the students I met were so, so terrible. All of them thought I was crazy, all though none of them had even talked to me long enough to know me. They didn't care about learning, or anything like that. I left and I am glad to say I won't come back. Also, if you're reading this, Lawyer I know you filmed me. Go sit in the corner and think about your life.
My daughter attended this school and developed many mental health issues. In no way am I saying that this was linked to the school, it was just her genes. What I am saying is that the school handled it awfully. One teacher going so far as to mock my daughter in class saying she just wanted "the easy way out." Getting accommodations for my child was an absolute nightmare and god forbid you wanted to have a civilized conversation with the principal who was very unfriendly and defensive about any legal matters involving the school. Sanitary conditions were also a huge concern of mine. The school has the number of bathrooms legally required for the large amount of students but only 3 of them remain open all year long because they don't want to clean the others (not that they clean the ones the children actually use!) The whole place is a bit of a dump, minus the interior of the classrooms which were never a problem. Teachers are a hit or miss. I loved some of the teachers but others.... not so much. From what my daughter has told me, the kids there aren't the nicest bunch but are fairly accepting of individuality. Overall, I'm glad my child will be attending a different school in the fall free from egotistical teachers and students who tell each other to kill themselves for laughs
A Lottttt of bullying. All the kids here are beyond weird. I transferred to black mountain and it's wayyy better than this druggy school.
DO NOT LISEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS!! They are not true. The school is amazing!!! BEST teachers ever I was so happy there. Only thing I will admit PE was very hard and harsh!
My daughter, Meghana Killada, has just finished her 6th grade year here at Oak Valley and is not looking forward to coming back for 7th grade because according to her, Oak Valley middle school makes her feel "uncomfortable" and I cannot disagree. My poor Meggie -haha-boo has told me stories about the horrid principal at this school and how his huge behind does not make her feel safe in her daily environment. This school has dramatically changed my daughter in the worst possible ways. A few months into the school year, my daughter started coming home every day with not only excessively red eyes, but slurred speech and a surreal personality. Not only has this school dramatically affected her personality and appearance in these horribly negative ways, but her odor, which used to be of delicious curry now strongly consists of an unfamiliar, funny and seemingly foreign smell. I came on campus one time for a parent-teacher conference and the school reaked of that terrible smell. This school has even affected my sweet baby in the smallest, yet unconventional ways. She comes home, starving, uncontrollably grasping and consuming everything that she can. I promise you she has become impossible to control. Our grocery bill has tripled! After devouring our pantry, she usually stumbles upstairs, and falls asleep for a long time, mumbling words such as "pot" and "weed." This makes me wonder why people at this school would ever talk about such irrelevant topics such as kitchen items and plants. American schools are truely so stupid, as the staff do not even show their students disipline. My daughter did not do her homework one day and mommy (me) and daddy (my huzbend) warned her about how her teacher was going to spank her atleast four times for not completing her work. He did not. I am so truely disappointed by this AMERICAN school as a whole and I cannot wait to move back to India where my poor POOR daughter can actually have a disciplined education.
