I wanted to explore and experience what San Diego had to offer and went to this restaurant for some drinks and enjoyed the live music here. But the drinks were extremely over priced. Anyways, we had a couple of drinks and we wanted to have two glasses of water. The guy working at the bar gave me a very unwelcoming and rude sign and denied to serve me water. We were totally fine and we just asked for a glass of water. I and my friends wanted to leave but before that I wanted to leave a complaint with the management but the staff at the gate tried to defend the bartender and told me that he was the manager. I told him that it does not matter and we left.
We were there for Taco Tuesday. I had the fish taco which was very good, but the carnitas taco was amazing! I also had the Pineapple Espresso cocktail. That was fantastic. There's a taste of the espresso, but not overbearing. The pineapple was part of the liquid and added the sweetness, but not too much. great drink.
Amazing food! Was expecting bar/pub type fare but ended up with a 5 Star dinner! Sea Bass with risotto was perfect, loved the Brussel Sprout appetizer and the Jail Bird cocktail. Plus Monday night so half off cocktails and apps!
The food and atmosphere were excellent. The host was wonderful and sweet. Great little patio that allows fantastic people watching. Our service was to be desired. It took a very long time to just get water, then another long wait for my glass of wine, another long wait to just order, another long wait for bread, never was asked about another glass of wine (although it might have not gotten there before the end of dinner anyway), the server rarely came by, never asked about the food, then checked to see what we tipped in front of us.
The food and service was great but our group waited for over an hour for our food. It was brunch time on a Sunday but the restaurant was not extremely busy. Some food was sent back and still wrong the second time, with one less side for some reason.
Denying water and treating customers in unwelcoming and unfair manner is totally rude and not a Californian hospitality. I just wanted to share my experience and advice other customers to be extracausious dealing with these guys
