My condition has only worsened as a result of allowing Dr. Eastlack to convince me that my spinal fusion had become unstable. Eastlask promised that my condition, severe neuropathy in both feet, and worsening back pain, would be corrected by the procedure he proposed. I believed him. That was one-year and one-week ago and my condition is considerably worse than the day I met him.

On January 26, 2016 Dr. Eastlack and his college, Dr. Greg Mundes gave me back my life. Diagnosed with severe ankylosing spondilitis since the age of 8 years old. My spine at 58 years old was twisted and fusing with my head almost at 90 degrees with my eyes looking at my feet. The full spinal fusion operation was my last hope of having any sort of life that could be considered reasonable. Dr. Eastlack actually had to break my spine in 2 places. The first break and correction was done at L3 so that my spine could be vertically straightened away from my right shoulder but rather up in line with my head. The second break was at T10. He took out both T10 and T9 vertebrae which were crushed and not able to support my upper spine and head. He then straightened the rest of my upper spine so that I can now look into your eyes rather than your feet. I grew at least 6 or so inches from 4' 8" to about 5' 2". Can you imagine the pain relief, no longer having constant racing pain down both legs, Now I have the ability to actually fill my no longer squeezed lungs with air. The change in my life has been extraordinary. Bless you Dr. Eastlack, Dr. Mundes, the Anesthesia physician for keeping me safe for 10 + hours and the incredible nursing staff at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, CA. Dr. Eastlack may not know it but I am sure Angel wings are growing out of his spine.
I can't recommend him because of his office staff. They don't return phone calls, they move your surgery time without telling you, only to go to the hospital to find out your surgery has been moved back 4 hours. I won't recommend him to my friends because of that.
Here is a Doctor who actually listens to you, takes a conservative approach but does what is needed. He did extensive surgery on me and I ended up absolutely pain free. I would recommend Doctor Eastlack to anyone, and would put my life in his hands again if needed.
Won't accept patients from a rear end motor vehicle accident per his scheduler. Another prime example of Doctors who do not have best human interests in mind.
