I was very impressed by how knowledgeable the staff were. Good selection of bikes as well.
Practically a Historic site for how long this location has been a bike shop under various names, the Performance location is "rustic" or "old school" in terms of amenities and decor, but managed by a crew that emphasize quality service and repairs. The usual, chain-related great deals on bikes, gear and supplies, a free-use work stand out front and fresh, cold water for any rider or hiker who asks.
Visited only a few times. Needed a chainring. They ordered it but then wasn't available so they ordered another one. That was however the wrong one and they then told me they couldn't find one that would work and finally refunded me. So, not sure what to make of this. Certainly friendly staff that tried - but wasted a lot of time.
Very friendly, did some work while I waited, very cool.
After our confidence was restored in this location thanks to the recent kindness of the new manager Thomas we decided to get our Fuji Absolute 2 his & hers bikes completely serviced here.My wife and I bought our bikes a couple of years ago from Performance Bicycle and paid for the Spin Doctor 2 year Service Plan when it was offered to us.From memory it was $80 a bike.We have barely used the benefits of the plan except for a couple of tune-ups last year. This time we opted for our 2nd entitled tune-ups plus drive chain cleans for both bikes.I have regularly cleaned the bike chains and re-applied quality lubricant but riding all over the place we have noticed the sprockets get debris such as sand particles stuck to them which I find impossible to remove.I had phoned through a week earlier and booked our bikes in for the service which means leaving our bikes with them for a couple of days. When we brought them in Thomas the manager did a detailed inspection to make sure there were no other issues and told us we would receive a phone call in a day or so when the work was complete. We picked up our bikes last Friday and apart from the cost of a new tube for a puncture we told them about on my wife's bike there was absolutely no other charge....not even a labor charge to put the new tube on because that is one of the entitlements that comes with the 2 year service plan.In fact we get 4 of those for each bike so that is really great. When we rode our bikes the next day we noticed immediately they were riding easier and smoother so the drive chain clean was really worth getting.....we have another one for each bike up our sleeve before the 2 year service plan expires next year. The chain sprockets before the clean were a very dark grey but now they are pristine silver in color....they look brand new again. Thanks to Angel the bike technician who worked on both our bikes. And a real big thanks to Thomas the manager who treated us like valued customers by making sure everything was done to our satisfaction. We are very happy!
