This is a good hardware store with smart people working and I hope SD locals support it because, even though, yes, you can order stuff online, we need and want a store in our community where we can find the things we need that weekend when something breaks and we can't wait for something that might or might not be the exact right thing you hope it is to arrive. You can call and ask if they have what you need--it is a small store, and if you can be exact in your description they can tell you. If you are like me and have only a vague sense of what you want, it could require a trip over but I've found the owner to be very helpful and as psychic as someone who doesn't know what you mean because you don't know what you mean can be.
If you need last minute hardware, and don't care about quality, I guess you could go here. Broke a simple tap inside a screw hole on its first use, which obviously indicates manufacturer defect; I was tapping aluminum, nothing crazy. Well, I call the store to explain, and the manager says it doesn't have a warranty, so there's nothing he could do. Class act bro, good luck against Amazon.
Very small shop, very tight to walk through, and the key man is very fast! I got 2 sets of keys made, turned around to look at something and when I turned back he was done! All keys worked too! I would come back if I need any little odds or ends.
Good selection on tools and materials
Really cool shop with very knowledgeable employees way better than Home Depot and Lowes. These guys know their stuff and willing to help you just need to ask.
Prices are good here. Before supporting that a/prime soul-crushing monstrosity that will be happy when they are no more independently owned stores left in the world, please support your own community! I say this as a person who is outta here in six months, but I hope the local hardware store sticks around longer.
