Total scam. They advertise that they are shuttle bus to rental car center, but when you arrive at the center, you find out that they are off site. They are located in Little Italy in downtown SD. Their cars are not less than 2 years old. Their lot looks like a used car lot. Mine was a 2005 Toyota Corolla with over 222,000 miles. Once there and reality sinks in that you are stuck in a city away from the airport and other car rental places, you feel trapped with limited options. People are friendly so do I be mean and ask to be driven back to the airport or do I suck it up and drive the old car? I was on a time crunch so I took the damn car. After returning the car in the exact same condition that I got it in, with even more gas, they did not have a shuttle to take me to the airport. I had to call Uber. A few days later they charged my credit card $500 and sent me a bill saying I owed them $138.89 more for a windshield replacement that cost $638.89. Total BS. Don’t use this company. They are a scam. I’m reporting them to the better business bureau and hiring an attorney to get my money back.
This place is the worst car rental place I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with in my long life. In fact it is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. I called ahead of time to make sure the van I rented would be reliable. The manager, Maria, promised me it was. I didn't care if it was ugly as long as it was reliable. It broke down two days into our vacation and they wouldn't come get it or send anyone to help fix it. They told me to fix it myself (mind you I'm a 54 year old woman!) , it wasn't their problem. I had to get it fixed myself, and took the broken down car back to them after only 2 days of my weeklong rental, and have been in a three month battle with my credit card to get the charges reversed ever since. They charged me for the whole week, even though I took the car back after two days. They are a horrible company, their lot is trashy and dirty and seedy and crowded with ratty cars. They have the worst customer service you will ever deal with in your life, their cars are crappy junky ratty stinky filthy undependable pieces of crap. There is not one car on that lot I would let my family ever drive on a regular basis. I would wager the newest car there is still 15 years old I beg you, stay as far away from this place as you can. No amount of money you will save is worth the hassle you will encounter. Let my horrible experience be warning to you. STAY FAR FAR AWAY.
Looks like the feeling is mutual here with a 1.6 Star rating, you definitely get what you pay for. Not only did my $100 a week car rental cost $50 for 1 extra day (I called ahead, 2 times to request the the change with no call back and then was told that the terms were written on the agreement which was conveniently hand scribbled and illegible). Now my deposit is being held. I was told when I dropped the car off it was being processed and would take 3-5 days to hit my account. I called on the 5th day and then was told they are only processed on the 15th and 1st of the month so now I get to wait another 3-5 days from then. Is that even legal?
This place is an absolute scam. The van we rented is was complete POS, and the sliding door didnt even close!!! Told them we would return and they stated that they would only swap vehicle for the bigger POS van they had. Will be contacting my credit card co.
Wanted a cheaper vacation and this helped me out greatly (price of a hotel in S.D. per night is more than this rental for a week). Plus we had no worries of getting the car stolen. Will be talking about the Toyota Corolla for years to come. Made a great trip for my wife and I.
